Daniel Mongeau joined the SDK team in 2005 and became an associate in 2007 after 6 years as a designer with a steel fabricator. He currently acts as a project leader while maintaining his involvement at the design level. Experienced and well-versed in structural design, his global vision of projects allows him to identify all the issues right from the preliminary phase, in order to evaluate the project’s constructability and to quickly put forward solutions respecting both the budget and schedule.

As a specialist in the design and fabrication of structural steel, Daniel Mongeau has accomplished numerous industrial, institutional, and cultural projects of various sizes and scopes, for new buildings, for expansions and for renovations of existing buildings. He was la guest speaker for the Montreal Structural Engineers in 2013 and for ETS students in 2017. Over the years, he has developed his expertise by contributing to several steel constructions and heritage rehabilitation projects.

After obtaining his bachelor’s in civil engineering from the University of Sherbrooke in 1994, he completed his education by adding a master’s in 1997, also from the University of Sherbrooke. Curious by nature and interested in every field of engineering, he is eager to develop new construction methods including the integration of wood elements in structural design. He advances his knowledge through numerous seminars and training courses.
