Hélène Brisebois began her career at SDK in 1987 as a design engineer, and then as a project leader. While completing numerous major projects, Hélène Brisebois quickly became an SDK shareholder in 1989, and then a main partner, taking over various company management responsibilities, such as quality assurance and staff management. President and CEO for a period of 18 years from 2007 to 2025, she now holds the position of Vice President / Strategic Development and Majors Projects.
Exceptionally analytical, passionate, visionary, and a natural leader, Hélène Brisebois is recognized by her peers for her numerous and prestigious accomplishments, including large hospitals, courthouses, schools, detention centers, and more than twenty university buildings. Many of her technical achievements have received awards of excellence.
She is actively involved within several organizations including la Fondation de Polytechnique Montréal, the Cabinet of the University of Montreal’s Grande Campagne, and the organization Dans la rue.
After earning her degree in civil engineering from Polytechnique Montréal in 1987, she obtained a Diplôme d’Études supérieures en sciences administratives from HEC Montréal in 1993, and then took a training course in quality management at Polytechnique Montréal in 1996. She completed her university certification in gouvernance de société from Université Laval in 2017.
In 2011, she received a recognition from the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec for her exceptional contribution to the profession. In 2015, she received the Prix Excellence et Leadership CREW as well as the Prix Mérite from Polytechnique Montréal. Fellow of Canadian Civil Engineering Society, Université de Montréal awarded her an honorary doctorate in 2014, as did Université de Sherbrooke in 2024.
